Alex Hurst
President
Alex graduated from ABC Keystone’s electrical apprenticeship program and went on to serve as a field foreman for MVE Group before stepping into the role of Operations Manager. Alex has experience working on high-voltage and low-voltage projects and now enjoys overseeing all of our various installation and service departments. His role is to implement and maintain processes to improve efficiency and quality.
Matthew Weaver
VP of Finance
Matthew is a finance professional with over a decade of experience leading accounting, financial reporting, and strategic financial management across diverse organizations. He currently serves as Vice President of Finance at MVE Group, where he leads the accounting and financial reporting functions of a multi-entity company.
In this role, Matt focuses on budgeting, forecasting, and financial management to support informed decision-making and long-term organizational health.
Previously, Matt served as Controller, overseeing daily accounting and finance operations, period-end reporting, and internal process improvements that strengthened financial integrity and operational efficiency.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Geneva College and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Pennsylvania.
Joel Charles
VP of People & Culture
Joel joined MVE Group just before the start of 2023. In his role, Joel oversees the company’s Human Resources and Safety departments, leads training and development initiatives, and is involved in all aspects of culture-related matters.
While he recognizes no company or team is perfect, Joel believes MVE’s culture truly stands out, and feels honored to contribute to it. Joel is passionate about maintaining a positive and fun workplace that is also hard-working and driven to succeed through teamwork.
Joel is a 2008 graduate of Millersville University with a degree in Secondary Education. He has a deep love of education and learning and strives to approach all of life with openness and curiosity.
Ryan Thomas
VP of Field Operations
Ryan joined MVE Group in 2016 as a Field Foreman. Over the years, he advanced to the role of Field Supervisor before assuming his current position as Vice President of Field Operations.
His leadership focuses on expanding the field workforce, identifying and cultivating training opportunities, and fostering a workplace culture that prioritizes safety, health, and enjoyment.
Ryan is committed to building a collaborative team that supports one another, leads with humility, embraces servant leadership, and brings the grit and determination needed to get the job done. In addition to leading the field team, Ryan chairs the ESOP Planning Committee, where he is passionate about strengthening employee ownership and enhancing company-wide awareness of the ESOP.
Ted Gallagher
VP of Solar
Ted is an experienced entrepreneur, investor, and business leader who brings over 25 years of cross-industry success to his role as Vice President of Solar at MVE Group. In this role, Ted oversees all aspects of MVE’s rapidly growing commercial and utility-scale solar division, from project development and EPC execution to client relationships and strategic partnerships.
With a deep background in business development, private equity, and real estate, Ted has a proven track record of uniting people, capital, and ideas to achieve impactful results. His ability to connect vision with execution has helped developers, building owners, and institutional partners unlock value through clean energy solutions. Before joining MVE, Ted co-owned and scaled EHC Associates through a successful private equity exit and served as Director of Development at CCS Building Group.
A serial entrepreneur at heart, Ted has founded and invested in numerous ventures across sectors, including energy tech, consumer products, and AI. He is the inventor of EZDIP Containers and an early-stage investor in companies like American Battery Technology Company and SentimentAI. He also holds a local office as an elected Township Supervisor for East Lampeter Township, bringing a business-minded perspective to public service.
Whether it’s guiding a startup to market, designing solar arrays for industrial clients, or exploring new clean tech opportunities, Ted brings strategic insight, relationship-driven leadership, and a passion for building what’s next.
Mike Kreider
VP of Electrical Services
Mike has more than fifteen years of experience in the electrical industry, with a background in commercial, industrial, and renewable energy projects. After earning his degree in Electrical Technology from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, Mike began his career as a field foreman and service technician, gaining hands-on experience in all facets of the trade.
He joined MVE Group in 2017 as a foreman, managing both commercial construction and solar installations. In 2020, Mike advanced to oversee MVE’s Service and Lighting departments, leading their growth and development. In 2024, he moved to the role of Vice President of Electrical Services, where he now provides strategic oversight from project estimation and design through construction and long-term service relationships.
Mike’s leadership emphasizes technical excellence, strong customer partnerships, and a commitment to delivering reliable, innovative electrical solutions.
